Gene Wilder MoviesWelcome To Gene Wilder

Gene sadly passed away on 29 August 2016. We have received many e-mails of condolence and thanks to Gene for everything he did. We will post a selection of these messages below.

I adored this man. I was once sent a signed copy of his book, which I read with joy, sadness, laughed out loud and made me adore him even more. (Ken Wallace, UK)

You greatly influenced my life and nourished me with laughter. Thank you, kind sweet and funny man. (Dawn)

A spark will go out of the world with Gene Wilder's passing. He is much loved by his fans and I thank him for committing himself to bringing joy and laughter to so much of his audience. My childhood was better for him. (Greg Foster, Australia)

I would like to express my sorrow at Gene's passing to his family. You must have been proud of him. This weekend was the first time my two-and-a-half year old daughter watched Willy Wonka and was transfixed by the movie. May he rest in peace having brightened up the world he left behind. (Eadaoin McSweeney)

From an off Broadway production of 'Roots' to voicing an owl in animation film 'Over The Hedge', Gene Wilder has led a varied and interesting life.

He has won numerous nominations and awards with his trademark wit and, often overlooked, great acting ability.

Most famous for working with Richard Pryor and Mel Brooks, Gene Wilder is hero to millions of children as Willy Wonka and very outspoken about the remake of the movie.

This site offers some information about Gene and his life as well as movies he has been involved in, books he has written and nominations/awards he has received.

Something To Remember You By - A Perilous Romance

Gene's latest novel begins at Christmas, 1944. In a foxhole in Bastogne, Belgium, the innocent yet charmingly clever protagonist, American Corporal Tom Cole, is injured. Cole is sent to an English hospital and once recovered, discharged for one week leave in London. Upon meeting Danish girl Anna Rosenkilde, in a dimly lit blackout-compliant restaurant, Cole falls in love for the first time.

Anna claims to be a monitor for the War Office, scanning radio waves for incoming German planes. But who is she really? When Cole goes to the War Office to surprise his new lover, Anna is nowhere to be found.
